You can’t out-give The Giver

There are a couple of cool holidays this month that inspired me to share about a topic that is always good to touch base on from time to time:  PROSPERITY.   What does that word mean to you?  It could be measured in money, loved ones, dear friends, a home that nourishes your soul... and the list goes on.  (This may appear to be separate from chiropractic. It is not.)

In times in my life when I have felt like I am lacking, this reminder fuels my soul:

When you feel like you don't have enough... GIVE

✨When you're feeling down, reach out to someone else that needs uplifting...
✨When you feel like you don't have enough time, offer yourself in service to others...
✨When you feel like you don't have enough money, give to someone who has less than you do...

Somehow even when you objectively don't seem to have enough, when you take this leap ENOUGH (or MORE) shows up!

That is to say: choosing consciously to participate in the abundance from which you came (and are always a part), supernaturally somehow opens a secret world into even more abundance.  Just like the chiropractic principles we abide by, when it comes to prosperity, the infinite life-giving, manifesting intelligence of the universe is also inside and available to each and every one us.

So for International Day of Charity on Sept. 5th and National Non-Profit Day today I hope you'll join me to take the opportunity to reflect on a few of these practical tips which will help radically think beyond yourself and expand your own sense of abundance in your life by affirming your ability to give of yourself.

  • Choose a charity that gives back to the community socially and spiritually in a way that resonates with you, and commit to making that the first thing you do with your paycheck.  If the amount you are donating is a little uncomfortable that’s a good sign.  I follow the 10% rule.

  • If giving financially feels impossible, go to the website of a local food shelf and register/send an email requesting to volunteer.  (Then follow through when they respond.)

  • Make sure you are using smile.amazon.com.  A portion of every purchase will be donated to the non-profit of your choice (at no extra cost to you).

  • Budget to give.  Beyond your regular giving, isn't it nice to have a moment you want to give freely without pausing to quickly calculate in your head if it's going to be a bad idea?

  • Take advantage of donation-matching to maximize your gift. Many workplaces have programs. Many organizations throughout MN match grants to charities on Give to the Max Day (November 2022), and their GiveMN.org website has a page where you can browse current matches or search for charities that meet viability standards

  • Sit for a moment and reflect on one person you would like to send a loving text to today, and send it.

After pressing into generosity even more in my personal finances last year, this year I extended that even more this year with a theme of radical generosity as a business.

So far this year, as a business, I am grateful to say have been able to donate an additional $2000 toward these Duluth, MN Charities of the Month as well, as do my small part to raise awareness for these charities:

(in the heart of building a community of generosity, $350 of that was matching care members’ donations!)

Want your New Patient exam fees donated to Adult and Teen challenge?  SCHEDULE HERE and mention Teen Challenge.

I'm grateful to continue to grow the impact of our business, not only in the lives of those I directly serve as a chiropractor, but as a light in our community.   If you have a charity in Duluth, MN that means a lot to you and you would like to have it be an upcoming charity of the month,  I would love for you to share more by replying to this email.

Love and light,

Dr. Lara Hill
