Xenoestrogens: Women’s Health (Part 1)

It's Women's Health Week, and when I sat down to reflect on the number 1 health tip I would give to women specifically, this was it.  Why?  So many people don't realize that increasingly common chronic issues like endometriosis, infertility, breast cancer (and prostate and testicular cancer), and hormonal weight gain probably have to do with this issue: XENOESTROGENS

Xeno-what???  They are endocrine disruptors that act like estrogen and create estrogen dominance.  We ingest, inhale, or absorb them through our skin and these chemicals are SO prevalent in our modern world that some level of estrogen dominance is probably more common than not.

Good evidence of that?  The typical age of puberty 100 years ago was 16-17 years old
...now it is 8-13 years old.

What are the signs you have estrogen dominance?
Symptoms like

  • heavy/painful periods

  • PMS

  • irritability and mood swings

  • headaches, bloating

  • decreased sex drive

  • anxiety and depression

and the list goes on.

Where do xenoestrogens come from and what to do about it?
1. AVOID THESE THINGS!

  • plastic containers

  • pesticides in produce and meat

  • fire retardants in clothes (wash before wearing)

  • chemicals in cleaning products, laundry soap, skincare products, nail polish and remover, soaps and toothpaste (choose natural/chemical free options)

  • even off gassing from new constructions.

2. BALANCE YOUR ESTROGEN LEVELS
Dynamic Hormone Balance: This comprehensive blend of evidence-based ingredients can naturally balance estrogen with herbs, bioactive micronutrients, lignans, isoflavones, and antioxidants which have been shown in clinical settings to help balance healthy estrogen levels.

3. DETOX!
A full detox is the best way to clear out the excess junk and right now in the spring is one of the best times to do it.  Here is a great program that you can use in conjunction with the above Dynamic Hormone Balance to really move the needle on your wellbeing.  SEE THE COMPLETE 7 DAY DETOX PROTOCOL
