Maple Syrup Super Food Recipe
One of the best things you can do to optimize your health is to focus on the nutrient density of your food. Natural Maple syrup already has a much better nutrient profile as compared to refined sweeteners, including at least 24 antioxidants as well as zinc, manganese potassium and calcium (always buy “Grade B” or Dark Color maple syrup when possible). Still, I love to make mine even more nutritious so that I’m getting extra super foods with my breakfast. Take advantage of the sweetness of the maple syrup to add any superfoods of your liking.
My go-to is Acai powder, which You can get from Walmart! Others I have added are Mushroom superfood powder, adaptogenic herbs powder, spirulina, amalaki powder, whole food vitamin C powder [WELLEVATE]. The superfood sky is your limit! Of course, you can also simply add some frozen wild blueberries and heat over the stovetop for a nice super nutrient punch.
Spread over pancakes or add to plain almond or cashew milk yogurt!
